A reverse osmosis system that produces high-purity water, removing up to 98% of dissolved inorganics and over 99% of large dissolved organics, colloids and particles from brackish water.
Overview
Sirion™ Midi is a standardized one pass reverse osmosis (RO) system designed to meet your demand for high-purity water and when an energy-efficient process water production system is required. Ideal for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, laboratories, healthcare, food and beverage, and power industries, these performant, compact and plug-and-play units ensure a small footprint and reduced operating requirements.
Skid mounted and pre-commissioned, Sirion Midi is a cost-effective solution with minimal requirements for civil engineering and extremely short delivery and start-up times.
How does Sirion Midi work?
Reverse osmosis plants produce permeate water with a quality of 5 - 20 μS/cm from regular drinking water. The conductivity value of strongly mineralised water can be considerably higher. The programmable measurement and control electronic board installed in the cabinet monitors the complete treatment process and displays measured values on the display (front of equipment).
Osmosis is a natural process whereby water from a solution of low salinity passes a semipermeable layer/membrane to a solution of high salinity. The process ends when both solutions have the same concentration or an osmotic balance is achieved by level difference and therefore increasing back pressure.
The osmosis process is reversible and can therefore be used for water desalination. If you put pressure higher than the natural osmotic pressure on the side of high salinity, pure water diffuses from the solution through the semipermeable membrane.

FAQ about Sirion™ Midi
Why is reverse osmosis suited for the production of high-purity water?
Reverse osmosis is ideal for the production of high-purity water because it effectively separates the feed stream into a concentrate stream, which contains most of the dissolved material, and a permeate stream, which is purified water. The process allows the passage of water but not salts, thus extracting high-quality water from a saline water solution. The most suitable membrane is chosen for each system, and while it cannot remove 100% of salts, it can achieve up to 99.5% removal. Reverse osmosis systems are also adaptable, cost-effective, and simple to run, making them ideal for various applications. For the Sirion Midi the typical salt rejection is 96-98%.
What are the advantages of a skid mounted unit for water treatment?
A skid mounted unit for water treatment has several advantages. It allows for easy installation and minimal start-up time. It also has a small footprint, which saves on plant space.
