Centra™

A fundamental part of designing or upgrading a laboratory is planning the space and equipment needed for critical services, such as high-purity gases and water. With a deep understanding of laboratory issues and solid expertise in water purification technology innovation, Elga® Labwater — a subsidiary of Veolia Water Technologies — has designed Centra™, a complete range of purification, water storage and distribution systems packaged into a single unit.

Centralized water purification, storage and distribution system packaged into a single unit delivering Type 1, 2 and 3 ultrapure water.

Overview

Capable of providing water of constant purity at a rate of up to 200 liters per hour, Centra first purifies and then distributes the purified water

Its design overcomes the limitations of traditional centralized water purification systems to deliver consistent water purity, flexibility and economy. The units have been designed with high flow rates to meet the needs of medium-sized and large laboratories.

The flexibility of the system offers the advantage of incorporating additional equipment around it to adapt to the changing requirements of your laboratory — Centra can incorporate a range of purification options that include reverse osmosis (RO), ultraviolet (UV) photo-oxidation, sub-micron filtration, deionization (DI), storage quality control and full system recirculation to match your water quality demands.

In addition, the small footprint of Centra occupies less space when compared to conventional installations.

All built-in water purification units are controlled by a central processor with an audio-visual alarm warning, an internal leak detection alarm and connection to building management systems (BMS).

Resources & Product range

To best meet your pure water needs, our unrivaled Centra range includes several models and flow rates:

Centra™ R60/120
The Centra R60/120 offers complete water purification, storage, control and distribution systems featuring up to 120 liters per hour reverse osmosis modules and a 0.2 μm filter. They are the ideal solution for smaller distribution requirements with flow rates of up to 10 liters per minute.

Centra™ R200
The Centra R200 is a complete centralized water purification, storage, control and distribution system featuring up to 200 liters per hour reverse osmosis modules and a 0.2 μm filter. It features the same technologies as the R 60 and 120 for a flow rate of up to 18 liters per minute with the standard system or up to 30 liters per minute with the variable speed model.

Centra™ RDS
The Centra RDS stores, controls and distributes pre-purified water throughout a building (or a suite of laboratories) via a loop system. The system incorporates a 350-liter water  storage reservoir and has advanced bacterial control as a result of a combination of UV photo-oxidation, an external purification cylinder and a 0.2 μm filter. It is available as a high-flow variable speed model (HFV) that can deliver up to 30 liters per minute to meet peak demand.

Contact

Embodying flexibility, Centra accommodates evolving lab requirements by seamlessly integrating with other equipment. Beyond efficiency, it also presents an economic alternative, minimizing costs associated with distribution piping and equipment.

What is centralized laboratory water?

Centralized laboratory water refers to a system where the production, purification and distribution of laboratory-grade water are centralized in a single location within a facility. This system is designed to provide high-quality water for various laboratory applications, ranging from simple washing and rinsing to more critical applications like analytical techniques and experiments.

What are the benefits of a centralized laboratory water system?

Centralized water systems ensure a consistent and high-quality water supply throughout the laboratory. This is crucial for various applications, such as analytical techniques and experiments, where water quality can directly impact results. It is often also more cost-effective and space-saving and offers scalability for evolving laboratory needs.

How are laboratory water needs evolving?

Laboratory water needs are evolving in response to advancements in scientific research, technological innovations, changing environmental and regulatory considerations. Key trends include the environmental impact of laboratory operations, remote monitoring and control, adopting automation and integrating water purification systems into larger automated workflows.
