Urban developments are facing unprecedented pressure to minimize their environmental footprint and optimize resource consumption, driven by rapid urbanization, scarce natural resources, climate change and increasingly stringent environmental regulations.
One Bangkok, Thailand's first fully integrated district and LEED-Neighborhood Development Platinum certified project, showcases innovative sustainable urban water management.
Together, we have successfully minimized potable water dependence and optimized resource consumption across the development’s retail, commercial, residential and hospitality spaces.
Our integrated water treatment solution combines multiple technologies: Spidflow® for high-rate clarification, AnoxKaldnes® Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) for biological treatment, and MultifloTM as a final clarification step, making the water suitable for environmental discharge or reuse. Furthermore, Hubgrade enables real-time optimization and preventive and predictive maintenance.
The project successfully treats and reuses 1,200-1,500 cubic meters (m³) of water daily, with an expected capacity of 10,000 m³. By treating and reusing 75% of wastewater for non-potable applications, the development saves 3.7 million m³ of potable water annually, equivalent to the water usage for 11,000 urban households.
