TIPSS Solutions

The CPI basin can be executed in steel or concrete. The concrete units are specifically suited to integrate with sewer systems below ground level so that a gravity flow can be used.

Overview

TIPSS CPI

Corrugated Plate Interceptor

The steel CPI can optionally be supplied with integrated oil sump and/or effluent sump or with gas-tight cover.

Main Applications:

  • Ballast water and tank farm waters
  • Refinery effluents and run-off
  • Petrochemical effluents and run-off
  • Airport or other large site rain run-off

Typical performance:

  • Flow rate 50-10.000 m3/h
  • Oil globules cut-off diameter 30 - 60 µm and larger
  • Oil removal 50 - 99%
  • Residual 5 - 20 ppm free and separable oil
  • TSS removal 80 - 90%

TIPSS CFCPI

Cross Flow CPI

Steel executed cross-flow CPI's used for large range of applications. The plate pack is customizable with regards to inclination, plate spacing and material.

Main applications:

  • Refinery effluents and run-off
  • Petrochemical effluents and run-off
  • Food, textile, automotive and steel industry

Typical performance:

  • Flow rates per standard unit 50 - 320 m3/h
  • Oil globules cut-off diameter 30 - 60 µm and larger
  • Oil removal 90 - 99%
  • Residual 10 - 30 ppm free and separable oil
  • TSS removal 90 - 95%
  • Sand cut-off size up to 10 micron

TIPSS PCPI

Pressurized CPI

Reducing the feed water pressure (by reducing valve or other obstructions) results in turbulent conditions. Turbulence will reduce the oil droplet and solids particle size. Smaller droplets/particles are significantly more difficult to separate. When applying a TiPSS CPI pressurized the pressure is reduced downstream, thus turbulent conditions upstream can be avoided.

The plate packs can be executed in GRP or various steel alloys. Veolia MPP Systems has a unique standardized plate pack design that is flexible and economical.

Main applications:

  • Produced water (off- and onshore)
  • Refinery in process flows or effluents
  • (Petro) chemical in process flows or effluents

Typical performance:

  • Oil globules cut off diameter 10 - 60µm and larger
  • Oil removal 99%
  • Residual 10 - 30 ppm free and separable oil
  • TSS removal 90 - 95%
  • Free gas 90 - 99%

TIPSS DAF

Dissolved Air Flotation

The DAF technology uses extremely small air bubbles to lift suspended solids and oil to the top surface. The formed sludge layer is scraped into a sludge holding tank. The addition of coagulation and flocculation chemicals may be required to enhance the performance.

Removal efficiency is usually superior to gravity based systems and often applied as polishing step (downstream of CPI).

The DAF can be supplied with a gas-tight cover, coagulation & flocculation dosing and mixing equipment an air-saturation by special pumps or separate pressure vessel.

Main applications:

  • Produced water polishing (off and onshore)
  • Refinery effluent polishing
  • (Petro) chemical in-process flows or effluents
  • Food, textile, automotive and steel industry

Typical performance:

  • Oil removal 30 - 99% up to 2 - 10 ppm
  • COD reduction 30 - 90%
  • TSS removal 50 - 99%
  • Up to 10 - 30 ppm
  • Floated sludge thickening 4 - 8%
