EDF was building a new power plant at its site in Bouchain. This 550MW Combined Cycle Natural Gas fired Station was a technological first and will aim to meet the electricity consumption peaks in the network, with maximum energy efficiency. The project is managed by the Thermal Engineering Centre of EDF.

The Client's Needs


Produce filtered and softened water to supply the cooling tower.
 
  • Produce demineralized water for the Combined Cycle Gas steam production.
  • Dewater the sludge from the softening process.
  • Use Process Units that can operate in "on/off" mode and achieve the performance in a short time so the plant can face the power consumption peaks with great responsiveness.


Project & Technology Solutions


Actiflo® Softening: This process combines in a single, compact processing unit clarification operations and softening to reduce the hardness of the water and remove suspended solids.

Multi-Media Filtration: This step ensures the removal of suspended solids.

Aquadem™ Solution: Demineralization service that uses ion exchange resin technology to produce high quality purified water without onsite regeneration.
