Project Background

FHI CEDC
The first unit started running commercially in early 2010 and Unit 2 ran commercially at the end of the same year.

Toledo City, Cebu, Philippines – Cebu Energy Development Corp. CEDC is a subsidiary of Global Business Power Corporation (GBP), one of the largest power producers in the Visayas area, ​offer stable electric power to Cebu island and Visayas grid.
Three (3) units of IPP with respective capacity of 300 ton/hr Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) × 82MW Steam Turbine Generator (STG).

 

The Client’s Needs

Formosa Heavy Industries Corporation (FHI) acts as an EPC contractor over Independent Power Plant for CEDC.
The proposed units, purely electricity generating, are equipped with environmental friendly, natural circulation, single drum, coal-fired circulating fluidized bed boiler and full-condensing turbine.
Veolia Water Technologies’ subsidiary in Taiwan has been awarded the first industrial water treatment system EPC contract by FHI in Philippines power plant project.

  • 20 m3/hr x 2 trains
Condenser Polisher System:  
  • 150 m3/hr x 2 trains
Waste water Treatment System:

Process Description

Industrial water system: ​  D​emin system:
  • Carbon filter + Mixed bed
Condensate polisher system:
  • Anthracite filter​ ​+ Cation​ bed + ​Polisher Mixed bed
WWTP​:
  • Conventional ​coagulation and settler + pH adjustment
Sludge treatment:
  • Sludge thickener + Filter press
 
Actiflo® Process:
The primary advance made in the Actiflo® process is the addition of microsand as a “seed” and ballast for the formation of high-density flocs.
